Brief Brand History for Hublot
Carlo Crocco grew up in a family of watchmakers in
Italy and in 1980 defied convention by creating a solid gold Hublot fitted with
the first black strap in natural rubber and a sensation was born. The brand has
many successes in the 1980s but when watch industry genius Jean Claude Biver
joined the firm in 2004 a phenomena was born. The Big Bang series of watches
have become one of the hottest watches in the world and demand so far outstrips
supply that numerous models sell at a premium above retail when they can be
found at all.
product line overview
Today Hublot is all about the Big Bang in all it's
various versions. Whether Stainless Steel, Rose Gold or various Limited Editions
the brand is HOT! All are sought after and selling at or near suggested retail,
but the limited editions are incandescent. The "Luna Rosa", "Aspen", "Mat
Series", "Monaco Yacht Club" and especially "Cappucino" and "Black Magic" sell
at a significant premium above suggested retail if they can be found at all.
Older discontinued or new old stock watches exist and sell at 40% to 60% below
retail.
essential watches "market assessment"
Hublot Big Bang are so hot that you will pay
suggested retail for most models and above retail for most limited editions. The
limited pieces can be hard to find at times. There is little market for
previously owned Hublot but some new old stock models are still selling at 40%
off. Preowned Big Bangs sell at 20% off retail.
